Kerry Tillson

Kerry was introduced to the world of Bushcraft and Survival a number of years ago following her retirement as a Police Officer. She took a short-term role as an assistant bushcraft instructor and lived in the woods for almost 3 months with her fellow instructors. During this time her passion for the outdoors was re-ignited and Kerry vowed to start her outdoor learning journey.

Upon her return to civilisation, Kerry actively looked for groups to engage with and embark on her journey. Kerry struggled to find women to share her passion with so set up the Facebook group ‘Women in Bushcraft’ with the aim of encouraging, educating and championing women in the world of Bushcraft, survival and its related skills and crafts. The group continues to grow and now has members from across the globe.

Kerry set up ‘Vixen Bushcraft’ on Facebook and Instagram as a means to document her learning journey in the hope that other women will follow her journey and be inspired to get outside and maybe embark on their own learning journey. Kerry has now set up a Vixen Bushcraft Youtube channel and will film some of her journey along the way.

Kerry has been a volunteer instructor with the UK Army Cadet Force on and off for many years, where she teaches many military subjects that cross over into the world of Bushcraft and Survival.

Kerry is also proud to be a volunteer instructor with the Midlands based Feral Yam Yam Bushcraft School.
